How Much Money Is That Lead Really Costing You?

You are taking the advice of your upline. He promises that if you buy these leads, you will finally be successful in your MLM. You have spent enough money without making any in return. But, you don’t want to be the naysayer who didn’t believe. Does this system really work?

For that one super sales guy in your upline, yes, this is a great idea. Unfortunately, for the average MLM member, leads are scary and expensive. Here are 3 reasons that it is crazy to spend money on leads.

1. These Leads are Not From Your Target Market: Just because someone opted in on a “Work From Home” lead capture page, doesn’t mean they want to be in an MLM. Maybe they wanted to make wages working from home. How much time do you want to devote to convincing leads that they want what your selling?

2. These Leads Require Cold Calling: You eventually have to contact these leads you purchased. This involves the dreaded cold call. No one on either end of the conversation likes the ‘cold call’. How responsive are you to someone calling you to sell you something? Should you really expect other people to react differently than you? Cold calling almost forces potential customers to put up defensive walls.

3. Leads are Supposed to Make You Money, Not Cost Money: Free lead generation is attained by lots of traffic visiting you site and opting in for something they want (not your primary product or business). Use a sales funnel to get qualified leads to your end product. Smart marketers use affiliate marketing, so all of this traffic and lead generation will actually make you money. You will make money and get more qualified leads by not purchasing leads.

So if you aren’t buy leads, how are you supposed to talk to the hundreds of people necessary to be successful in an MLM? What if you could learn how to attract people to you, begging to be on our list and in your downline? It’s actually not that hard. You just have to change the way you are doing things. Attraction Marketing creates a magnetic effect around you. Lots of people want to be around you (on your site) learning from you and even being in business with you.
